Welcome 2018!!

Hello! Be prepared to be updated about all the happenings of the last three months. I debated about not continuing to blog, but I actually really like printing off a picture book at the end of the year for our family. So... let's start with ADRIENNE!

On January 3rd, Adrienne left for Prague, Czech Republic.
Her aim was to spend a month in training, to teach English overseas.
The company she was working with had job opportunities open for her in Prague.

So she sold her car...
got rid of her apartment and most all of her belongings...
packed everything she owned into two suitcases...
and, said goodbye!
In case you aren't aware... goodbyes SUCK!
Here she is praying that her luggage won't be overweight...
And here is everything she left behind. Elise and I decided to save it all in case she decides to come back to the states - shhh.... don't tell her our secret plan!!
Here she is in Prague- making new friends, working hard at school and living her dream!
A month later, her exams were done... check!
And then we got some more news...
She took a job offer in Hanoi, Vietnam!
So she packed everything up and moved to Vietnam to work at Hanu University. It was a rough start as the paperwork did not go through as smoothly as it had up to this point. But she made good relationships within the university and was able to do some teaching and tutoring on the side until things worked out. She also had a friend who let her stay with her until she found an apartment, and then they decided she should just stay permanently!
Here is a view at the secondary school where she is currently under contract and employed! (Apparently at a certain time every day the kids go outside and sing a song.)
In addition to working at the secondary school, teaching classes at Hanu University and doing some private tutoring, she just today told me that she has some other exciting research opportunities that are unfolding with a prominent university in the US!
Adrienne, we miss you like crazy and we are so proud of you!
You truly want to make the world a better place and we are not going to be the ones to stop you.
(But come back soon- k?)
