Weekend in St. Louis

Elise, Scott and I spent fall break in St. Louis, MO celebrating Chris and Becca!
Scott played in the wedding orchestra.
We went to Pappy's Smokehouse for the rehearsal dinner.
It took quite a bit of time and direction to get the boys to line up for this pic.
On Saturday before the wedding we all gathered for pictures.
Here's Larry and Elise waiting patiently for lunch.
After a beautiful service, full of pomp and circumstance, liturgy and hymns, we headed out with family to visit and wait for the reception.
The reception was held on Concordia Seminary's campus.
We strolled the gorgeous grounds and took some pictures.
We accidentally found the bride and groom doing the same thing.

Here we are at dinner sitting with Mark's family- cousins Ethan, Mason and Grace.
The wedding couple dancing with parents.
Hi Chris and Becca! Chris's speech during dinner was the highlight of the night,
(along with the elegant bridal dress and 6 delicious cakes!)
Girl cousins on the dance floor.
On Sunday, Elise and I headed out to do some exploring. Here's Elise with Chuck Berry :)
Our favorite stop was Fitz's where we enjoyed root beer floats and pizza.
We hopped up to the bar... the root beer bar!
How do you eat this?? When the waiter asked if there was anything we needed I asked him for a tip on how to eat it. He said to work around the outside and then the ice cream will fall into the glass.  It. was. wonderful. They also brew? and bottle their own pop and you can watch them do it while you wait for your food.
For a few blocks outside the restaurant you can experience the St. Louis Walk of Fame.
Here Elise sits by Maya Angelou's star.
In the afternoon we picked up Scott and went to the City Museum where Elise spent a couple of hours crawling through tunnels all made from scraps of St. Louis structures.
It was nice to get away and spend a few days celebrating.
Happy Fall!
