We have spent these last few days of 2013 relaxing. The weather was a glorious 60 degrees for two days which let us visit the skating rink in the Railyard and the new outlet mall in Gretna. We've been watching movies and having playdates. The Christmas decorations are all packed away and winter lights and snowmen are sitting on the mantle. Scott made a batch of Apricot slush and the hot chocolate machine is working great. And, we are getting caught up on sleep... well, maybe not Elise who continues to get up at 7:30... and Eliot who comes home with bloodshot eyes after playing xBox until the wee hours of the morning with his friends...
Goodbye 2013.
I am not going to miss you.
Although the good outnumbered the bad this year,
the weight of the dark times are still
lingering.
2014, I ask you
to be filled with an abundance of peace,
to encompass
love,
to push away anger,
to cast off the dramatic
and to just be
content.
