We tried to pack in as much as we could between Eliot's birthday and the first day of school.
I think we did pretty well ;)
We went out to eat for Eliot's birthday. Adrienne accidentally blew out his birthday candle for him...
He didn't seem to mind too much.
Elise helped out her guitar teacher by demonstrating a few techniques at a local daycare event.
Elise and I crossed off another thing from her summer bucket list... A trip to the Omaha Zoo. The weather was beautiful and it was packed, but we had an awesome day! The elephants and the Imax show were our highlights.
We made time for the county fair.
I guess we hadn't been there for awhile. Elise was excited about everything!
Adrienne came with us for the afternoon and we splurged on food and a couple of games.
Scott has been playing with the Lincoln Municipal Band all summer.
A couple of weeks ago he played a duet with the band. They draw a nice crowd and it's a great way to enjoy a summer Sunday evening.
We spent 2 1/2 hours at 7th Grade orientation. Go Aardvarks!
Adrienne got the keys to her apartment and we all stopped by to see it and then went out for breakfast at a coffee shop in her neighborhood.
Last night was the last muni band concert. Tim and Carol brought Marie out to watch and some of the grandkids were able to come too!
And today was the 1st day of school! Elise had a great day and is looking forward to tomorrow.
August is half way done. I feel like time is slipping away too fast so we're just trying to enjoy every minute.
