Winter 2016

Here's what we've been up to so far this year:
We spent the New Year in Des Moines. Scott was playing with the Des Moines Symphony for their New Year's Eve concert. The kids had fun swimming in the pool, relaxing and eating out.
We toured the Des Moines State Capital. It is gorgeous inside and out!
Here's one of the most beautiful libraries in the world.

One of the restaurants we tried was Fong's Pizza. We had the crab rangoon pizza which was amazing! Definitely try it out if you are downtown!
Back at home Elise and I visited the Railyard. We hadn't been there since Adrienne moved and we both felt a little off. It just doesn't seem the same without her there.
Here's the one we miss- 1 year is a long time away!
Turning to other things... Elise is on 3 praise teams at church.
Here she is playing ukulele with the band.
She made chili for the super bowl chili cook off and...
 won the People's Choice Award!
Last week she sang a duet with her teacher for the mid-week Lenten service.
On Friday, Julie, Amy and I went out for a quick lunch and dessert. It was a beautiful day and felt so great after the dreary, long winter!
Then we were back to church on Friday night for Open Mic Night. Elise played a duet with her friend Eden and did a couple of other acts with the youth drama team.
She also talked Scott into singing a duet with her.
They were so cute singing Tom Petty's "Free Fallin'"
And finally, Elise and I have been enjoying the mild temperatures by walking.
Neither one of us are looking forward to anymore winter weather!
