It seems like the weeks are starting to fly by. We're in a good routine of school and work. Eliot really enjoys his job and seems to like his computer class at the IT school. Adrienne's busy with her new classes at school and planning out her summer in France AND starting to look at options for graduate school...overseas... Elise is doing well in school and went on a field trip to the prairie this week. She's practicing her violin and is joining a new Lincoln children's choir tonight. And yesterday, our church education year kicked off, so I feel like we are on a high speed train to Christmas!
In between our routine minutes, we've had some extra surprises. Eliot got a speeding ticket and had to use his first paycheck to pay for STOP class. We went to Iowa on Labor Day to visit Scott's mom who was in the hospital with a collapsed lung. She is now recovering at home after being there for two weeks.
This weekend Elise was invited by a older man we know from church, to come pick potatoes at his farm. Not only did she come home with potatoes, but also freshly picked apples, pumpkins, watermelon, cantaloupe, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers. Needless to say we shared with neighbors. She worked hard on Saturday and even got to drive the tractor! When I asked her how she stopped it she said, "Well, I just have to shut it off because I couldn't reach the pedal." .... HA!! Apparently she drove and Bob rode in the trailer from the field to the shed. Boy was she proud- and tired! Yesterday, we made a tasty apple pie and we have lots of potato recipes picked out for the week.
On Wednesday we start our midweek classes at church, Elise has conferences on Thursday night and Adrienne and I are going to the Michael Buble concert on Friday night! Have a happy week and if you have a chance, eat some pie.
