The celebrating has begun!!
This weekend grandpa Ken and grandma Linda came to celebrate Adrienne's graduation. We had such a good time and I'm always sad to see them go home!
While the kids were in school, Scott and my dad worked on a few projects around the house. We also got Elise's bike fixed and she learned how to ride without training wheels. Since she told me last summer that she would "just run wherever she needed to go", I didn't think she would ever learn... but, yay! We even took a walk around the neighborhood while she rode the whole way. Eliot's not in any of the pics, but he tried to beat grandpa at checkers. He gave up on that and switched to Skip-Bo!
Here's Adrienne with the grandparents....
On Thursday night, we went to Elise's school for her "Night at the Museum" event. All the 1st graders researched an animal. Elise chose the elephant...
She would pose like this...
...and then when someone dropped a coin in her jar, she would automatically "turn on" and share about the elephant. All the money raised went to the Lincoln Zoo.
Grandma and Grandpa sat down and people watched for awhile... :)
Then we went to hear a little bit about 1st grade and watch a slideshow from the year.
Miss Wergin was an awesome teacher!!
Friday and Saturday were spent garage saling, baking, eating, watching movies and playing. On Sunday afternoon, "the girls" went to see The Sound of Music at the Lincoln Community Playhouse. Elise's friend, Bailey, did a fabulous job as Gretyl! Then dad took us out to eat at one of Adrienne's favorite places, Valentino's.
Elise and grandma spent the most time together... Linda patiently tolerated melting beads, checkers and whatever else Elise wanted to do. Such special times!! Plus, she did all the laundry while she was here. What a treat for me :)
We're looking forward to more fun times together this summer-
love you!!
