We decided to take the kids to Chicago for a few days during Christmas break. Unfortunately, we had to pull over in Des Moines to wait out an ice storm. We were able to snag a room at the Embassy Suites and enjoy a free breakfast and underground parking. We spent the day swimming and slid around Des Moines in the afternoon to see a movie and do some shopping.
